Map of Ag, a leading provider of insight and knowledge to farmers, businesses and professionals within the agricultural sector, has acquired Evidence Group (EBVC).
Specialist veterinary consultancy EBVC, formed in 2006, supports the food animal supply chain, from farmer to consumer, in making decisions based on the latest data driven evidence in the belief that better decisions benefit animals and the people who care for them.
Their scientific approach allows them to interpret, design, coordinate and implement livestock management systems through new techniques and technologies relating to animal production, health, welfare or nutrition.
Map of Ag enables any business within the agri-food supply chain, to make sound decisions based on accurate, real time information, using their innovative technology, data modelling and pioneering analytics.
Map of Ag Founder, Forbes Elworthy said of the acquisition, “Our purpose is to connect the entire agricultural industry so that we have better information, better communication and better, more profitable farms as a result. Animal welfare, health and sustainability form a key part of our food system. This will enable us to gain further valuable insight into farming methods and animal health so that we can continue to provide farmers and those in the food chain with data that will help them to make better informed decisions.”
Evidence Group Managing Director, Richard Vecqueray added, “It is an exciting time to be working within global agriculture. Modern technological advances are transforming the way land is farmed and the way that food animals are cared for. This is facilitating huge gains in farming efficiency, environmental protection and animal health and welfare. Map of Ag and Evidence Group have placed themselves at the heart of this agricultural digital transformation enabling us to extend our global reach across all sectors.”
Using technology and novel data management techniques, Map of Ag and Evidence work with some of the most progressive businesses that support farming and bring food and produce from the farmgate to our homes as consumers. Working together, these businesses create an agri-tech powerhouse that will continue to generate actionable insights for farmers and the agri-food supply chain they supply and is one more step on the road to creating the global information platform that will connect agriculture.
As part of the acquisition Richard Vecqueray will assume the position of Chief Executive Officer overseeing the Map of Ag group.
