Ben McKenzie stands at the forefront of our sustainability efforts in Australia, bringing a unique blend of data strategy and on-the-ground farm know-how.
Having recently joined Map of Ag as a Senior Sustainability Consultant based in Melbourne, Ben’s mission is to help Australian agricultural industries and their supply chains become smarter with data. He has a real passion for guiding industries toward sustainability goals through high-resolution data and innovative strategies.
Before coming on board, Ben spent years at one of Australia’s major agricultural R&D corporations, where he looked for new revenue streams for farmers – experience that taught him how sustainability can go hand-in-hand with farm profitability. He also isn’t shy about rolling up his sleeves: he’s managed regenerative farming projects involving carbon and biodiversity credits.
Ben’s hands-on credibility is a huge asset as he leads engagements with Aussie farmers, agribusinesses, and even policy groups. Over the past decade, he’s seen how sustainability has shifted from a buzzword to an operational must-have in agriculture, and he brings stories of real-world change – from trialing carbon farming in outback paddocks to implementing data tools for commodity groups.
His spotlight is a reminder of our team’s growing international reach: by planting roots in Australia with Ben, we’re connecting local farming innovation to our global sustainability network.
“Turning complex sustainability challenges into practical, data-driven solutions that genuinely help farmers and industries move forward is unique to Map of Ag and what I find most rewarding. It gives me the chance to connect with people on the ground and contribute to real, measurable change in agriculture.” Ben McKenzie, Senior Sustainability Consultant
